Join us for an evening screening of ‘The Farewell’, a 2019 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Lulu Wang.
Illuminating themes of familial love and intergenerational bonds from the Town Hall Gallery exhibition ‘Familial’, this film explores the differences between family dynamics and expressions of love across cultures.
‘The Farewell’ follows Billi, a Chinese American woman, who learns of her grandmother’s terminal illness. While the family keeps the medical diagnosis from the grandmother in an attempt to lessen her emotional burden in her final days, Billi struggles with the family’s decision.
Town Hall Gallery will be open late. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the Arts Bar.
